James Suel, CFO

James has been a senior financial leader and CFO for over 35 years having a background in Turn-arounds, Start-ups. Private Equity, Big Four Public Accounting, and over ten years in a premier Fortune 100 company as a Group CFO for two of that Company’s larger platforms during his tenure.  James understands end-to-end processes, operations, treasury, risk management, raising capital, S.E.C. reporting and a wide and deep knowledge of M&A.

James was CFO for Wilson Electronics, Danaher, Alpha Technologies as well as CFO for start-ups Tracenet Technologies and HZO, Inc.  As a Vice President within the Sorenson Capital Partners Operating Group, James was the private equity’s “serial CFO” working with various portfolio companies to integrate acquired businesses into the portfolio, assist in the sale of portfolio companies and work with all matters of accounting, finance, etc. up and down the portfolio from Oil & Gas operations to aviation and was even president of a start-up memory care operations within Sorenson’s equity portfolio.

Well versed in accounting, treasury and finance, understanding what is behind the numbers is his core strength and using this knowledge across all disciplines within a business from HR, Operations, IT, Sales, Marketing, etc. As James says, “I love to help.”

James and Lourdes are empty nesters to six grown children and two grandchildren. James is also a national broadcaster for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (“ACHA”), broadcasting home games for the University of Utah Hockey team as well as broadcasting the ACHA National Tournaments in Columbus OH (2017) and Dallas TX (2019). He and Lourdes also have time outside of their busy work schedules to enjoy snow skiing, boating, and sailing.
